News Flash👀, Yoga Teachers are human and get caught up like everyone else. I’ve been so incredibly busy for the last year honestly. Living by my calendar to remember the most basic of things. I work full-time as a Manager and teach a couple of Yoga classes weekly. I’ve attained additional certifications in both careers last year and now looking to shift my career to a director level position plus kick off my yoga program in 2019. I’m driven, I get it. I’m also encroaching upon feelings of being burnt out. Needless to say, I was gently reminded that things are out of wack and I need to make some adjustments. I need to rest. I need to be replenished. I need to restore balance. •••••••••••••••
All aspects of the 8 limb path help to bring you home to aspects of yourself. So, this time around, I want to open the window to my world and my practice. I hope you find a jewel or two on the journey to inspire you.

My intention before guiding every yoga practice is

My intention before guiding every yoga practice is that my students get from me what is needed in that present moment. Sometimes, even the best of us doubt our skills, effectiveness, impact, and a myriad of other things. Hopefully coming back to know that what comes from the heart, is truly received by the heart. I vividly remember after teaching my second karma yoga class after finishing my 200-hour teacher training the feelings I felt when Alex at @yoganook said to me you are a yoga teacher. It’s amazing how long I doubted my worthiness to be called such because of my own desire to be perfect. During my 300-hour teacher training, those doubts resurfaced only to find that all of us from teachers to studio owners had the same feelings. The difference was seeing the desire we all had to be impactful with our skills. That was beautiful to me! My own shift from wanted to be perfect to wanting to be as impactful as possible in providing tools to help communities (particularly black and brown) heal generational, societal, communal, and cyclical traumas. I’m thankful and humbled by the journey. I also salute all of you who show up day in and day out doing the work. I see you, I honor you, I value you, and your very existence makes this world a better place! It’s been dope to realize I am what I said I wanted to be. -Love & Light
